Welcome Ian Gjertson
Ian Gjertson is the newest member of the MAPP team. Gjertson will assist with the benchmarking program. After spending nearly a decade working in customer service, Ian knows how to best connect with people and drive conversations to create meaningful outcomes.
Ian has worked in aerospace and diecast car manufacturing, assisting with sales, customer service, accounting, quality, shipping, production and engineering. Although Ian is new to the plastics processing industry, he has completed six Routsis Training modules on injection molding and has toured several injection molding facilities.
Ian graduated from the University of Indianapolis with a Master of Science in Management in August 2020. He was granted the Top MSM Scholar award for maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout the two-year program. Additionally, Ian obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He also is certified in Lean Six Sigma (White Belt) and Project Management Essentials through the Management & Strategy Institute.
2021 EHS Summit

MAPP Building Leaders of Character Program
Brought to You by MAPP and Thayer Leadership Program at West Point
This program is an immersive and interactive experience designed exclusively for MAPP, led by retired General Officers and faculty who reveal their leadership lessons learned from West Point and the US Army. This comprehensive leadership program builds leaders of character. Attendees will engage in academic sessions and interactive experiences among a cohort of plastics executives from varying backgrounds. The experience includes an assortment of applied academic classroom modules, interactive experiential sessions, mentoring with expert faculty, networking time with other participants and inspirational speakers. Attendees will:
- Discover tactics to improve the trait of holding people accountable
- Learn proven methods to develop and maintain trust
- Uncover the power of providing immediate feedback
- Understand ways to align teams to meet company objectives
- Find new techniques to improve communications
- Acquire new skills in organizational improvement via the use of after action reviews
Who: Mid- to senior-level leaders, across the plastics industry, who want proven, practical tools to be a more effective leader
