Encompass Manufacturing, Cookeville, Tennessee, a maker of plastic molded parts, has named Samantha Sherrell Cross president of the company. Sherrell Cross previously served as the company’s vice president with responsibilities that included operations, finance and human resources. She assumes the role from the company’s founder, Ricky Sherrell, who will take the position of vice president and continue to guide the company’s growth strategies.
Sherrell Cross holds an accounting degree from Tennessee Technological University (Tennessee Tech) and recently completed her Executive MBA at Vanderbilt University. She has served as a mentor in the Tennessee Achieves program, which mentors high school students interested in going into technical fields.
In a program championed by Sherrell Cross, Encompass Manufacturing has partnered for the past two years with Second Chance Employment to hire and train justice-involved individuals, helping them make a difference for themselves and their families. This initiative has proven to be extremely beneficial both for the company and for the candidates who might otherwise not be given an opportunity.
