Industry Veteran Tom Betts Retires from Wittmann Battenfeld

Wittmann Battenfeld Inc., a Vienna, Austria-based manufacturer of plastic processors, has announced the retirement of Tom Betts, a longtime employee and well-known industry veteran.

Most recently an IMM regional sales manager for Wittmann Battenfeld in Michigan, Betts worked in a variety of capacities within the Battenfeld and more recently Wittmann Battenfeld organization during his more than 30 years. He worked for over 40 years in the plastics industry and is currently a senior member of the SPE. He has been an active member of the Plastics Industry Association (formerly the Society of the Plastics Industry, or SPI) where he represented Battenfeld and Wittmann Battenfeld on a number of committees, including the SPI Machinery Division and the former Structural Plastics Division.

Betts was a regular speaker at industry events and made more than 30 presentations at numerous technical conferences on a variety of plastics processing topics, including co-injection, gas-assisted injection molding and thermoset processing, liquid silicone rubber (LSR) molding, micro-molding, physical foaming and automation.
