Leading manufacturing consultant Laurie Harbour recently was recognized as one of Crain’s Detroit Business Notable Women in Manufacturing.

Harbour, president and CEO of Harbour Results, Inc. (HRI), received the award for her commitment to developing products and services to help manufacturers improve business. Since its inception, HRI has helped countless small- to medium-sized manufacturers transform their operations and develop a roadmap to maintain financial and operational success.

“My whole professional life has centered around helping make North American manufacturers globally competitive,” said Harbour. “It’s an honor to be recognized along with the other women for the positive impact we have had on the industry.”

In addition to leading the Harbour Results team with more than 20 experts and partners, Harbour also sits on the board of directors for Focus Hope and the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where she lends her expertise in manufacturing consulting and leadership to help shape the nonprofit organizations.

“Laurie’s greatest strength is always ‘challenging the status quo.’ Both with clients and within the HRI team, she continuously challenges people to think differently,” said Scott Walton, HRI COO. “She inspires her team to work harder and inspires clients to want to do their best and make hard business decisions.”

The Crain’s Notable Women in Manufacturing report is the publication’s first recognition dedicated to women in the manufacturing industry. Honorees were nominated by their peers and chosen for making a difference in manufacturing in Michigan. The women are selected based on their career achievements, as well as their activities outside work, including mentoring others within the field and contributing to their communities.
