Wittmann Expands Production Capacity

Wittmann Expands Production Capacity

Plastics Business

Increasing demand for Wittmann robots and automation solutions has led the company to implement a two-stage plan to increase production capacity. Over $1 million to be invested in Wittmann Battenfeld USA specifically.

The first stage of development, which enables an overall capacity output of 4,200 robots a year, was completed in mid-May 2015. This entailed increasing the capacity for both the assembling and startup of the small components that primarily are used to make the W808 and W818 robot models. The second stage of development involves the overall enlargement of the robot production at the WITTMANN Group’s Vienna, Austria, headquarters. This work is planned for completion by January 2016. The increase in Viennese production will be matched by an increase in the production capacity of Wittmann Battenfeld USA’s assembly facility in Torrington, Connecticut.
