Mark Malloy Succeeds Hannoosh as President; Geoff Giordano Joins Agency as Chief Content Officer

Greg Hannoosh, Founder and President of Next Step Communications Inc., has announced he is retiring, effective April 30, 2025.  Mark Malloy, Hannoosh’s business partner since 2021, will succeed Hannoosh as President and will assume ownership of Next Step.

Next Step is also pleased to announce that Geoff Giordano is joining the agency as Chief Content Officer, effective May 1, 2025.

“I’ve had a great career,” said Hannoosh, “and I am thankful to all of Next Step’s clients for putting their trust in us over the years to manage their advertising, PR and marketing programs.”

Hannoosh, a member of the Plastics Pioneers Association, spent just under 40 years working in the plastics industry. “I worked for 10 years in the industry before starting Next Step in 1996, so I’ve been involved in plastics for most of my career,” he said. “I’ve made many friendships through my work in this industry, and while I’ll miss the interaction, I’m ready to take my own ‘next step’ into retirement.”

“Retirement is something I’ve thought about for a while and I am really looking forward to it,” Hannoosh continued. “I’m also excited for Mark, and Geoff, as they’ll be taking over Next Step. They’ll do a great job of continuing and building on the agency’s legacy.”

Mark Malloy said, “Congratulations to Greg on his well-deserved retirement. I’d like to thank him for all he did over the past 30 years for his clients and for the many contributions he’s made to the plastics and converting industries.”

In keeping with their focus on the plastics, tooling and converting markets, Next Step is pleased to announce that Geoff Giordano is joining the agency as Chief Content Officer (CCO).

Giordano is a seasoned journalist who has produced and advised on content for plastics and manufacturing organizations for almost 20 years. He served 15 years in various editorial roles for USA Today parent company Gannett, strategizing daily content and presentation for events ranging from 9/11 to the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections, and many other of the most important national and world events. Since 2006, he has served as an editor-in-chief, contributing editor and content creator for numerous clients including the Society of Plastics Engineers, Plastics Today, Battery Technology and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He also served as the first content editor for cybersecurity software maker Ivanti.

“Geoff joining Next Step is great news for our clients,” said Mark Malloy.  “He knows the plastics industry well, and has been helping Greg and I produce PR and content for a few years now.  He was instrumental in supporting us with our PR workload leading up to NPE2024, where we had 12 clients at the show.”
