Slide Products, Wheeling, Illinois, is enthusiastically announcing the appointment of Betsi Burns as Sales Manager, effective January 1. Betsi joined the Slide team 3+ years ago as Business Development Manager, bringing over 22 years of experience in the mold and die making industry.
Current President and Sales Manager, Michael Muth, sees this as a new chapter in the capacity to continue growing and supporting their distributors and customer base. With this management change, Michael will be better able to focus on the company’s overall direction and spearhead larger projects that are necessary to meet future endeavors and challenges. Michael’s title has officially been changed from President and Sales Manager to Chief Strategist.
Ms. Burns has a rich and diverse professional background, from being a real estate agent, working at a PR/marketing firm specializing in the travel industry, to eventually landing a position at Boride Engineered Abrasives which was her first big step into the injection molding and mold making sectors. She became friends with Michael over the years as both companies shared numerous common distributors, and they would often meet at industry trade functions.
Michael, Betsi and the whole Slide team are excited about this opportunity. Michael comments, “When Betsi Burns agreed to join Slide, we laid out a 3-4 year plan to help transition from her traditional sales role into a position of leadership, working alongside Slide’s existing team of sales experts. Betsi has taken her existing knowledge of the mold making space and combined it with her new experience in injection molding to build a solid understanding of how she can support our customers, distributors and team members. Betsi will take over the daily support of Slide’s sales team, offering her history and vast skillset to enable us to continue to offer best-in-industry knowledge and support. I am excited to see where Betsi helps to lead Slide as we begin this next chapter in our company’s history.”
Betsi’s beaming, outgoing personality, communication skills and quick-witted sense of humor are the endearing qualities that have facilitated her success and in being so well-liked throughout the years: “I’m happy and honored to be entrusted with this new role and am looking forward to what it holds. The entire Slide family has been incredible in their support of me over the past three years – always available during the learning process about products and procedures. I learned so much from all of you and sincerely appreciate everything you’ve shared. I’m already immersed in thought over our industry’s possibilities and challenges and how as a team we can best prepare for 2024. One thing I know for sure is that I’m grateful to be part of Slide and confident that together we will be ready!”
