Press release submitted on behalf of Aurora Material Solutions.
Aurora Material Solutions, Streetsboro, Ohio, recently completed the previously announced expansion of its Streetsboro, Ohio, facility. This expansion further extends Aurora’s leadership in thermoplastic compounding of rigid PVCs, rigid PVC alloys and CPVC. The expansion adds over 140 million pounds of compounding capacity, creates new jobs, and supports Aurora’s continued growth with customer partners.
“The expansion is an example of our company’s mission to be our customers’ first choice in polymer solutions,” says Darrell Hughes, chief executive officer, Aurora Material Solutions. “The expansion will help us continue to grow and win with our customers while further enhancing our unparalleled quality and lead times.”
The Streetsboro, Ohio, location is the company’s largest facility and has an excellent track record, delivering the highest quality compounds with outstanding service while operating safely for more than twenty years.
“Streetsboro operations are industry leading, incorporating sophisticated compounding assets and process controls. Streetsboro is also the location of our rigid PVC technical center,” says Hughes.
The site began scale-up product trials for customers in May.
“The addition of Tower 3 is exciting, but we are also enthusiastic about other initiatives we’ve embraced this year to help support our mission,” explains Hughes.
In March, Aurora Plastics became Aurora Material Solutions, a name change that reflects the company’s commitment to expanding their scope and embracing a broader range of materials and solutions to help customers achieve their goals.
With the new name, Aurora also embraced its first brand statement in its 27-year history: “People. Partners. Possibilities.” This brand statement connects the dots to all the key components that drive Aurora’s successes.
In addition, at this year’s NPE tradeshow, the company announced the launch of AuroraEcoplast™ and a number of recycled and other sustainable material solutions. When it comes to sustainability, Aurora Material Solutions is the highest ranked vinyl compounder in the United States, achieving +Vantage Vinyl Gold compliance. This is an industry-wide sustainability initiative – created by the Vinyl Sustainability Council and audited by the third-party GreenCircle Certified – that engages companies across the entire U.S. vinyl value chain.
“Together with our People and Partners, there is no limit to the Possibilities that lie ahead in continued growth and innovation,” adds Hughes. “We are thankful to our people – Jeff Burhenne, Keith Hamrick and the entire team here in Streetsboro for all the hard work and dedication that made this expansion project a success.
“We would also like to thank the many Aurora partners who have supported our Tower 3 project: members of the Portage County Development Board, the Portage County Port Authority, TeamNEO, JobsOhio, as well as Mayor Glenn Broska and the city of Streetsboro.”
