Viking Plastics Jeffersonville Ships First Molded Part

Viking Plastics, Jeffersonville, Indiana, a leading injection molding and value-added assembly service provider, is excited to announce the company has added new capabilities to the Jeffersonville facility, including injection molding presses and assembly operations.

The company has added over $2 million in upgrades to the 40,000 sq. ft. facility, including a new material handling and central drying system, a new water system, upgraded electricity and new presses with robots integrated. Viking Plastics also has hired 18 employees in various positions, including management, supervisors, technical and direct labor. Additionally, the plant, which previously operated one shift, is now running three shifts.

The expansion provides capacity to meet increasing demands from a key HVAC customer.  The customer’s new products (developed with support from Viking) offer residential homes higher energy efficiency and provide an installation time reduction for builders.

Shawn Gross, vice president of culture and business development said, “These new products allow builders to triple their productivity from their HVAC installation processes.  In a time with significant labor shortages and pressure on the housing market for more homes, this is a huge opportunity within the homebuilding industry.”

The company anticipates continued growth and will have seven presses in Jeffersonville by the end of the year, ranging from 220-560T.
