Viking Plastics, Jeffersonville, Indiana, a leading injection molding and value-added assembly service provider, has announced the expansion of more than $2 million in upgrades to the Jeffersonville 40,000-sq.-ft. facility.
The expansion includes a new cooling water system, new material handling and drying system, five molding machines ranging from 220 tons to 560 tons with robots, autoboxing units and additional auxiliary equipment to support presses. The expansion provides capacity to meet increasing demands from a key HVAC customer. Viking Plastics has hired employees in positions that include management, supervisors, technical and direct labor. Additional hiring is projected into 2023.
“The addition of two more molding machines and additional assembly lines in Indiana will allow our customer to capture more market share and improve logistics efficiencies in the supply chain,” said Shawn Gross, vice president of culture and business development. “This also improves productivity in our Indiana facility and enhances our utilization of assets.”
