American Technology Components (ATC), Elkhart, Indiana, has announced an expansion that includes the construction of a new 140,000 sq. ft. building, consolidating all three locations into one new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that will provide 30% more space and is scheduled to open in spring 2023.

As part of the expansion, ATC invested in three LS Mtron WIZ-TA servo-hydraulic toggle injection molding machines; two of the 140-ton model and one of the 190-ton model. These machines are actively running, supporting the electronics side of ATC’s business, molding housings and holders. Through the new models’ production, ATC has seen increased productivity and profitability with oil capacity 50-75 gallons less than the company’s older presses and power savings of the new machines at least 35% more efficient.

Rob Baxter, director of manufacturing at ATC, stated: “It was a plug-and-go integration. The LS Mtron equipment has an easy-to-read process screen and intuitive navigation on process controls, which is a benefit for our machine operators. It wasn’t long before we saw faster cycle times, oil consumption savings and power savings.”
