Frigel, East Dundee, Illinois, has introduced its line of Microgel machine-side chiller/temperature control units (TCUs) with digital controls that lets users capture energy consumption data to further increase productivity and profitability.

The ability of the Microgel units to display and record historical process cooling energy data marks an industry first. In addition to energy consumption, the Microgel digital controls give users the ability to review temperatures, pressures and flow rates. All operating data is stored in a historical log and accessible via a user-friendly touchscreen. The result is the ability to easily adjust the unit for specific molding conditions for optimal efficiencies.

Frigel plans to feature the Microgel units in May at NPE2018 in Orlando, Florida.

Also at NPE2018, attendees are invited to visit the Frigel Diamond Service Learning Center to learn how the company’s scientific approach to process cooling, in combination with innovative technologies, aims to optimize productivity, profitability and quality.

“What plastics processors want out of NPE is practical knowledge that will help them get ahead in an increasingly competitive industry,” said Frigel North America Marketing Manager Al Fosco. “That’s why a primary goal for us is to educate visitors.”

The Diamond Service Learning Center will feature a self-guided, interactive presentation.
