RJG Partners with Progressive Components, Ameritech, Apprenticeship 2000
Plastics Business
The TZERO® team at RJG, Gibsonville, North Carolina, has been working alongside Progressive Components, Ameritech Tool and Die and the Apprenticeship 2000 program since May 19 to construct and launch a mold for use in RJGs North Carolina training facility.
RJGs TZERO division bridges the gaps between part design, mold design and manufacturing through simulation, education and optimization. For the tool launch, the team opted for a four-cavity puzzle mold, and all mold and part design issues were addressed through flow simulation prior to manufacturing the mold.
Progressive Components donated eight rapid tooling inserts to RJGs North Carolina training facility to be used in this project. Ameritech Die and Mold volunteered its time and resources to build the mold through its association with the Apprenticeship 2000 program. On July 21, the mold was launched without a hitch and making good parts immediately.
