The American Injection Molding Institute Welcomes Nick O’Toole as Mold Maintenance Instructor

Press release submitted on behalf of AIM.

The American Injection Molding (AIM) Institute announces the addition of Nick O’Toole as a Mold Maintenance Instructor. In his role, Nick guides students through the core foundations of mold maintenance and troubleshooting.

Having walked the exact path as the individuals he now instructs, Nick brings relatable, firsthand experience to the classroom. He began his career as a Process Engineer for Beaumont Advanced Processing (BAP). Over time, Nick began working on the molds he was processing to identify tooling issues and oversee repairs. He later attended all Mold Maintenance Courses at the AIM Institute, earned the Excellence in Mold Maintenance Certificate, and was eventually tasked with managing the Mold Maintenance department for all of BAP’s production molds.

“I am looking forward to passing along the knowledge I have gained through hands-on experience and my own time at the AIM Institute while studying under Glenn Keith,” said O’Toole. “My goal is to give students the confidence to troubleshoot and repair molds they previously thought were too difficult by providing them with a proven systematic approach to mold maintenance.”

Glenn Keith, Mold Maintenance Instructor, shared his perspective on his new colleague.

“I first met Nick as a student in my class,” said Keith. “The more a technician knows about how a part is made, the better they will troubleshoot. Nick understands how the press functions and what makes a mold work. I welcome him to the team and look forward to watching him impact the industry.”

David Hoffman, Director of the AIM Institute, emphasized the value Nick brings to the classroom.

“We are excited to welcome Nick as our newest Mold Maintenance Instructor,” said Hoffman. “Nick is an excellent addition to the AIM Institute. He brings a solid, practical understanding of mold maintenance best practices. Coupling that with his background in plastics and injection molding, he will bring a unique perspective for students who are less familiar with those topics. Students will gain a better appreciation of how their job is affected by the molding process while allowing for better communication between the different departments.”

Nick studied Plastics Engineering and Technology at Penn State Behrend and is a graduate of both the Plastics Technology and Engineering (PT&E) Program and the Excellence in Mold Maintenance program at AIM. He also holds certificates in Robotics Programming from Yushin University.
