Star Plastics Celebrates Two-Year Safety Milestone at Millwood Facility

Press release submitted on behalf of Star Plastics.

Star Plastics is proud to announce that its Millwood facility has achieved two full years without a lost-time incident, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to safety excellence.

Reaching this two-year benchmark reflects the dedication, discipline, and accountability of the Millwood team. By prioritizing safe work practices, maintaining rigorous training standards, and fostering a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility, the facility has demonstrated what is possible when teams are aligned around a shared goal.

“This milestone is a direct result of our team’s commitment to looking out for one another every single day,” said Daniel T. McMullen, CEO of the Star Plastics Manufacturing Group. “Safety isn’t just a metric at the Star —it’s engrained in the culture. Achievements like this don’t happen by chance; they’re earned through consistency, awareness, and teamwork.”

This achievement is part of a broader, strong safety performance across Star companies. Other locations continue to build impressive streaks of their own, including:

  • Manassas Polymers – 336 days – nearly a year
  • Trivalence Technologies – 894 days–nearly 2 ½ years
  • Star Plastics Ravenswood – 985 days–over 2 ½ years

Together, these results reflect a unified commitment to safety across all operations, reinforcing a culture where employees look out for one another, making actionable suggestions for improvement, fostering continuous improvement and accountability.

The company continues to invest in training, systems, and proactive safety initiatives to ensure every employee returns home safely at the end of each day.
