Progressive Components (Wauconda, IL) announces the release of its exclusive Mold-Ready™ Vented Ejector Pins, available in both straight and shoulder styles. This new solution sets a benchmark for efficiency in mold design and manufacturing.
While ring vent geometry on ejector pins is popularly turned to, the industry has lacked a standard for design and sizing. Progressive’s Vent Pins are engineered with pre-configured detail options, making them adaptable for a wide range of molding materials.
- Designers can select from four vent configurations tailored for low to high-viscosity molding materials, ensuring optimal performance across applications.
- Each Vent Pin is designed with a configurable part number for the bill of materials, eliminating the need for custom prints or models.
- A standard suffix (-VP) can be added to any Ejector Pin part number—regardless of material or size—for easy identification and ordering.
Unlike other venting methods, such as porous mold steels and plugs, Progressive’s ring vent design is self-cleaning and virtually maintenance-free.
Ordering is straightforward: Vent Pins are custom-configured using Progressive’s part-number system. Each pin features a precisely ground ring vent and vent relief, with additional options such as cut-to-length, keying, head engraving, chrome plating, and black nitride available to meet diverse application needs. Pin material options are H-13, M-2, and 440C Stainless Steel.
