Plastikos Impact Week Brings Employees, Families, and Community Together Through 210 Hours of Service

Press release submitted on behalf of Plastikos.

Plastikos, Micro Mold, & Plastikos Medical recently concluded its inaugural Impact Week, bringing together employees and their families for a week dedicated to serving the Erie community through hands-on volunteerism.

Throughout the week, 50 employees and 24 family members volunteered alongside local nonprofit organizations, contributing a total of 210 community service hours. Volunteers supported four local organizations through projects that strengthened neighborhoods, cared for animals, donated lifesaving blood, and raised awareness for Parkinson’s disease.

Impact Week was created to provide employees with meaningful opportunities to give back while reinforcing Plastikos, Micro Molds, & Plastikos Medical’s commitment to its mission to Make Life Better.

During the week, volunteers:

  • Helped build affordable housing with Greater Erie Area Habitat for Humanity by laying sidewalks
  • Assisted the Erie Humane Society by donating items, caring for shelter animals, and supporting daily operations
  • Donated blood through the Community Blood Bank mobile drive
  • Participated in the Parkinson Awareness Walk, supporting Parkinson Partners of Northwestern Pennsylvania, which raised over $30,000.

Philip Katen, President & General Manager commented: “I’m so proud of our Team’s commitment to the local Erie community as a key part of our collective mission where ‘Together, We Make the Impossible… to Make Life Better’, which was on full display throughout Impact Week.  I can’t wait to see this impactful community service initiative grow in the years ahead!”

The initiative also welcomed employees’ family members, creating an opportunity for multiple generations to serve together while introducing younger family members to the importance of community involvement.

Impact Week reflects Plastikos, Micro Mold, and Plastikos Medical’s ongoing commitment to Make Life Better globally through production of life-sustaining medical and electrical components, but also in the communities where its employees live and work. Based on the positive response from participants and nonprofit partners, the Company plans to make Impact Week an annual tradition.
