Paul Caprio Promoted to President of LS Mtron

Press release submitted on behalf of LS Mtron.

Effective Feb. 1, Paul Caprio has been named president of LS Mtron for the U.S. and Canada and added as a member of the board of directors for North America.

Caprio joined LS Mtron in 2023 as president of sales. In 2025, LS Mtron achieved a market share in excess of 10% and is focused on its next target of 20%. Since joining LS, Caprio has built the sales force to cover all the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

“LS Mtron is a tremendous manufacturer of injection molding machinery,” said Caprio. “The North American market has been very open to having a new high-quality supplier competing for their business. Competition makes everyone better, and the ultimate winner is the customer. The products coming out of Korea are the best in class and also the best overall value. This goes for automobiles, appliances, electronics and injection molding machines. Molders in North America have welcomed LS Mtron with open arms, and our very fast growth to achieve 10% market share speaks volumes to this fact.”

Chai-Ho Shin, global CEO of LS Mtron, stated: “LS Mtron was very fortunate to bring Paul Caprio out of retirement three years ago. He has so many connections in this industry and this gives us an opportunity to tell the LS story about our very strong history in the plastics industry. Paul’s experience is invaluable, and we are glad to promote him to be our president here.”

LS Mtron made a big splash into the North American market at NPE 2024, creating one of the largest booths to showcase its injection molding machinery. The South Korea-based global manufacturer reached worldwide sales of $1 billion USD in 2025.

About LS Mtron Injection Molding Machines
LS Mtron is part of the LS Group, a South Korean-based conglomerate with over 25,000 employees, annual revenues of over $45 billion and profit of approximately $2 billion. LS Mtron Injection Molding Machines (LS IMM), a division of LS Mtron, was started in 1969 by South Korean tech giant LG Corporation, one of the world’s largest plastic molders. Founded initially to satisfy their own production needs for injection molded components used in their world-famous TVs, appliances, electronics, and other products, today LS IMM produces thousands of machines a year, not only for use by our network of LS-related and LG-founded companies but also for thousands of molders around the world.

Since 2021, the LS Group has invested $722 million in a number of its businesses in the U.S., demonstrating unwavering commitment to long-term growth and innovation.

Beginning with the development of Korea’s first injection molding machines, LS IMM prides itself on quality, service and fast deliveries. The combined strength of the LS family of companies allows us to solve many of the world’s supply-chain challenges.

Because of this, LS IMM can provide new custom molding machines to our customers in North America in just 100 days from casting to cargo, or even faster from our stocked inventory.
