Remote-controlled, battery-operated system simplifies mold handling while reducing operator exposure during mold changes
Globeius has announced the availability of the ELS-60T Liftmould, a remote-controlled, battery-operated mold-handling system designed to standardize the process of changing high-tonnage molds while making mold movement safer and easier.
The Liftmould is a secure, single-point electromechanical lifting system that connects to an overhead crane using one pin per lifting point, enabling controlled movement of molds above an injection molding machine. Because operators can control the lifting operation from a safe position away from the press, the system reduces the need to climb onto molds to attach lifting equipment—a common step in conventional manual mold-handling procedures.

The Liftmould creates an electromechanical connection between the overhead crane and the mold. Integrated safety sensors, along with optional mold-locking technology, help verify that the mold is properly secured before lifting. This enables stable, controlled lifting and positioning while the mold is being moved. The Liftmould’s electric locking system reduces the need for equipment commonly associated with traditional mold changes, including chains, slings, ladders and safety lines. The system also reduces the need for manual balancing and alignment during the lifting process.
The Liftmould is designed to work with existing overhead cranes and requires no modifications to the crane itself. By providing a standardized method for connecting to and handling molds, the system can help reduce variability that reflects operator technique and experience.
In addition to helping improve operator safety and providing greater control when moving high-value tooling around injection molding machinery, the Liftmould can help streamline mold changes and support single-minute exchange of die (SMED) practices. With its more consistent approach to handling high-tonnage molds, it makes mold changes safer, more controlled and more efficient.
