SABO Expands Global Reach with a Direct Market Access Strategy

Press release submitted on behalf of SABO.

SABO S.p.A., (“SABO”) a leading chemical company specialised in the production of polymer additives, cosmetic ingredients, and oleo-specialties, announces a significant step forward in its international expansion strategy, by fostering closer relationships with customers and partners.

An integral part of this renewed sales approach is the transition phase starting on 1st June 2025, during which SABO will have direct market access without the intermediation of Songwon Industrial Group (“Songwon”).

This decision has been made jointly, allowing both companies to focus on their respective strategic priorities and future growth in the polymer additives industry.

Nevertheless, the companies will continue to cooperate in other forms in the field of HALS, maintaining a collaborative spirit in areas of mutual interest, and Songwon will fulfil all existing SABOSTAB® UV customer contracts until completion.

The partnership with Songwon has facilitated the global availability of SABO’s hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), essential for enhancing polymer durability and performance. As SABO advances its direct market approach, the company extends its deepest gratitude to Songwon for its partnership and dedication over the years, professionalism, and contributions to the successful distribution of its products.

This strategic decision enables SABO to respond more dynamically and effectively to customer needs with a tailored sales approach while aligning with its long-term expansion strategy. Following its backward integration through the acquisition of HALS intermediates in January 2023, the company has been reinforcing its global supply chain and production capabilities, ensuring a stable, high-quality supply of HALS solutions to customers worldwide.

In order to ensure a smooth transition and continued high-level service, SABO informs that cus-tomers with ongoing projects, orders, or inquiries related to SABO’s HALS products should con-tact the following SABO’s regional representatives:

  • Americas: Alberto Vischetti – alberto.vischetti@sabo.com
  • Asia, Middle East, and Africa: Arnim Helmboldt – arnim.helmboldt@sabo.com
  • China & Taiwan: Amy Hung – amy.hung@sabo.com

Founded in 1937 in Levate, Italy, SABO S.p.A. is a leading chemical company specialised in the production of polymer additives, cosmetics ingredients, and numerous other technological prod-ucts for industrial applications.

With over 80 years of experience, five production sites and more than 300 employees, SABO is based in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, China and the U.S., and is known for its innovation, entre-preneurial spirit and long-standing expertise.

A development that is part of a broader expansion plan implemented by SABO in the last three years to become increasingly competitive in the panorama of the major players in the sector, through the optimisation of the entire production chain, the widespread product distribution and the acquisition of new, patented, cutting-edge technologies. – www.sabo.com
