AEC Launches Compact Desiccant Wheel Dryers Ideal for Medical Production

Press release submitted on behalf of AEC.

AEC has launched two new compact desiccant wheel dryers designed for low-throughput processes and medical manufacturing.

The new, compact ADW14 and ADW25 are the smallest units yet in the company’s AD series and are designed specifically for low-throughput applications requiring energy-efficient drying solutions with a minimal footprint.

The units can process 1 to 25 pounds per hour depending on material and are well-suited for medical injection molding or extrusion because of their dust-free desiccant wheel technology.

Desiccant wheel dryers are more robust thanks to the use of a reinforced honeycomb structure. The control has a Smart Mode feature that automatically controls process parameters to protect material from over drying. This results in energy savings up to 40%.

The ADW Compact Series has the smallest footprint in the AD series product line. This allows the dryer and drying hopper to mount directly to the feed throat of a process machine. Ideal for applications where floor space is limited. The dryer and drying hopper can also be cart mounted. Low-temperature options are available for processing bio-resins. Compressed air and water connections are not required for operation.

For precision control, the AD series also utilizes a high-resolution HMI touch-screen. All drying data is visible on a single screen: drying temperature, dew point, material throughput and total energy consumption.
