Progressive Releases New Mold Safety Strap

Press release submitted on behalf of Progressive Components.

Progressive Components (Wauconda, IL) introduces a new mold Safety Strap that offers safe, assured securing of parting lines during mold transport and storage.

Progressive’s Safety Straps feature an engineered break point designed to prevent the shearing of bolts. Previously, if a mold was opened with a mold strap unintentionally left on, the bolts were then sheared, preventing the attachment of a new strap to remove the mold from the press safely.

Rather than creating an unsafe condition from sheared bolts, Progressive’s Safety Strap allows for the easy replacement of the strap while the mold is in the press, and no subsequent machining-out of a sheared bolt will occur.

Available in three sizes, each powder coated in OSHA Yellow, assigned a safety factor of two, and compatible with previous standards:

  • SAFT-88 = 7/8” bolt centers
  • SAFT-150 = 1-1/2” bolt centers
  • SAFT-200 = 2” bolt centers

For more information on Progressive’s extensive line of standard and exclusive mold components, visit www.procomps.com, email tech@procomps.com, or call 1-800-269-6653.
