Proco Machinery Unveils Future of Manufacturing at NPE2024

Press release submitted on behalf of Proco Machinery.

NPE 2024 visitors can experience the future of manufacturing firsthand at the Proco Machinery, Mississauga, Ontario, booth (#S15097) as collaborative robots (Cobots) and mobile Autonomous Guided Vehicle (AGV) robots work together to transform the packing and unpacking process with speed, precision, and reliability. Attendees can unlock new possibilities and stay ahead of the competition as Proco displays its cutting-edge robotic automation solutions.

In today’s fast-paced world of manufacturing, efficiency, flexibility, and automation are key factors driving success. At NPE 2024, Proco will showcase a cutting-edge demonstration that epitomizes these principles: a fully automated system featuring collaborative robots (Cobots) and mobile robots transforming the packing and unpacking process.

Proco’s display centers around a seamless integration of cobots and mobile AGV robots, working in harmony to streamline the packing and unpacking of plastic containers with efficiency and precision.

Automated Packing with Cobots
The exhibit kicks off with Cobots effortlessly packing plastic containers into boxes. With its advanced sensors and programming, Proco’s Cobot swiftly and accurately fills each box to capacity, ensuring maximum utilization of space and minimizing waste. This automated packing process not only boosts productivity but also enhances product quality by reducing the risk of errors and damage.

Transportation with Mobile AGV Robot
Once the box is filled, enter Proco’s mobile AGV robot. This sleek and agile robot seamlessly navigates the exhibit space, effortlessly transporting the full box to the next stage of the process. Its mobility and autonomy make it an ideal solution for optimizing material handling tasks in dynamic manufacturing environments.

Unpacking and Conveyor Integration
At the heart of the demonstration lies the second Cobot, tasked with the efficient unpacking of plastic containers from the boxes. With precision and speed, this Proco Cobot swiftly empties each box, placing the containers back onto the conveyor belt for further processing. Its ability to handle delicate tasks with ease highlights the versatility and reliability of Cobot automation in manufacturing.

Closed-loop System: Efficiency Redefined
The booth also features a closed-loop system that ensures continuous operation and maximizes efficiency. Once the box is unpacked, the mobile AGV robot seamlessly retrieves the empty box and places it back onto the infeed end of the box packing conveyor, ready to be filled once again. This closed-loop process eliminates downtime and optimizes workflow, showcasing the transformative power of automation in manufacturing.

What sets the exhibit apart is the seamless collaboration between Proco’s Cobots and mobile robots. Together, they form a dynamic ecosystem that revolutionizes traditional manufacturing processes. By leveraging the strengths of each robotic technology, the company demonstrates how customers can achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency, flexibility, and productivity in their operations.

Proco is already well known for their line of downstream equipment such as Take Out Systems, Deflashers, Spin Trimmers, Leak Testers, Robotic Packers, and Palletizers.
