PCS Company Launches Low-Level Hopper Alarm

Press release submitted on behalf of PCS Company.

PCS Company, Fraser, Michigan, has launched its Low-Level Hopper Alarm which prevents plastic materials from running out during production. Simple to install, the device gives injection molders, blow molders and extruders that extra assurance that production will continue, as scheduled, preventing machine shutdowns due to empty hoppers.

The Low-Level Material Hopper Alarm uses a proximity sensor to monitor the material level in the machine hopper. If the material level drops below the sensor, a loud alarm sounds and a flashing red light alerts plant personnel.

“This device is a must-have for any molding operation using manual loading hoppers, plus it is an affordable and smart addition as a backup to those machines using automatic loading hoppers,” Paul Hauser, Product Manager at PCS, says.

Made in the USA, the Low-Level Material Hopper Alarm requires just 110v and a 1-1/4″ hole in the hopper to operate, it is reliable, and impervious to local static. It is durable enough to withstand any plastic molding process. Each device comes equipped with:

  • Alarms – 95 dba audible plus flashing red light
  • Capacitive proximity sensor size: 1-1/4″ / M30 x 1.5
  • 10 ft. Power Cord
  • 6 ft. Sensor Cord
  • Sensor Max. Temp: 158 F
