Orion Performance Compounds Storms onto the Scene

Orion Performance Compounds, Lugoff, South Carolina, is a new solutions provider of highly engineered custom thermoplastic compounds that opened its doors April 2023.

With a new ownership group consisting of prior GE Plastics leadership, Orion boasts world-class management and a talented team of proven industry veterans. President/CEO Jim LeGacy, COO Tom Drye and their Board of Directors are plastics lifers who have spent decades learning, living and breathing plastics. Together, the Orion leadership team has more than 200 years of collective experience in plastics.

“EVCO is excited to welcome Orion Performance Compounds to the market,” said Dale Evans, president of EVCO Plastics. “Our previous success with the leadership of Orion gives us great confidence in their creative problem solving and advanced technical capabilities. We wish Orion the best of luck in this new venture.”

“Having worked with Jim LeGacy in the past, my confidence could not be higher in the future of Orion Performance Compounds,” said Lee Cattell, co-owner of Custom Plastics International Limited.

“I was excited to hear about the launch of Orion Performance Compounds,” added Steve Lunder, president of Granite State Plastics, Inc. “The leadership team at Orion has a strong history of listening to the customer and success in delivering exceptional products in the high-performance engineering thermoplastics market.”

“Molders in North America need competitive supplier options that are not tied into the big conglomerate or owned by venture capitalists,” stated Matthew Hurley, CEO of Titus Precision.
