Manufacturers need to rapidly switch between production runs to meet customers’ tight timelines while ensuring workers have the right skills to do the job. Now assembly and process manufacturers can improve their labor productivity by using the new Assemblyworks human-machine interface (HMI) in SHOPWORKS. SHOPWORKS is an optional module to the DELMIAWorks manufacturing enterprise resource planning (ERP) system from Dassault Systèmes.
Featuring an intuitive touchscreen user interface for work centers, it helps manufacturers to simplify shop floor operators’ activities and gain real-time insights from the ERP, manufacturing execution system (MES) and manufacturing operations management (MOM) modules of DELMIAWorks.
Assemblyworks extends SHOPWORKS to improve onboarding with work center-specific assignments that provide assembly workers the schedule, tasks and required workflow they need for a specific job. It also streamlines the operator process for reporting and connecting with other departments and teams, such as quality and operations. As a result, shop floor workers can get more done in less time.
Additionally, Assemblyworks gives assembly and process manufacturers the ability to track labor to specific tasks and validate certifications to ensure that only employees or temporary workers who are capable and certified will execute the work. Having workers use badge information to identify labor consumption in Assemblyworks also enables the capture of labor costs in real time, bringing greater accuracy and cost control.
