Seaway Plastics Engineering, Port Richey, Florida, a moldmaking and injection molding company, completed the acquisition on Dec. 31, 2020, of Wright Engineered Plastics, a San Francisco Bay area-based injection molder for the medical, aerospace, defense and industrial markets.
Founded in 1968, Wright Engineered Plastics is an FDA registered and ISO 13485-certified organization with extensive experience in precision molding, including two-shot molding, insert molding and over-molding quality parts in addition to contract manufacturing for the medical industry, including clean room capabilities.
Tom Orr, president and CEO of Seaway Plastics Engineering, stated that the company is excited to acquire Wright, as this will enable it to broaden its capabilities and geographic reach to provide full-service injection molding services to an expanded customer base. Seaway will leverage its network of sales representatives and domestic tooling capabilities to enhance growth at the Wright division. This acquisition also will support its customers’ needs for turnkey assemblies and higher volume molding production.
