Paulson Reports Record Seminar Registration Despite COVID-19

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, registrations for Paulson’s Plastics Academy (PPA) certification seminars outpaced previous years by nearly 38 percent. The Paulson Plastics Academy, a division of Paulson Training Programs, Chester, Connecticut, offers expert instructor led, vendor-neutral certification seminars that teach personnel how to optimize plastics processing for injection molding, extrusion, blow molding or thermoforming.

While global stay-at-home guidelines were in place, more companies and individuals looked to online class offerings to beef up technical skills. In response to the pandemic shut downs, Paulson provided customers with learning options that included online self-paced courses, introducing new virtual live-streaming instructor-led classes and a free series of monthly educational webinars.

Karen Paulson, president of Paulson Training, stated that being able to quickly transition in-person seminars to live video conference-based classes was a huge game changer that gave the company’s customers a safe and affordable way to keep up their training and advance their plastics processing skills.

The Paulson Plastics Academy seminars are held throughout the year, with more than 30 seminars offered, usually in convenient locations around the country. With the pandemic still in play, however, classes are virtual until late summer or early fall, when the company hopes to return to in-person classes.
