Nexeo Plastics Hires Joost D’Hooghe As New Vice President of EMEA

Nexeo Plastics, The Woodlands, Texas, a global thermoplastics resin distributor, has welcomed Joost d’Hooghe as its new vice president of EMEA. D’Hooghe will be responsible for continued development and expansion of the company’s footprint throughout the region across all existing and prospective vertical markets. D’Hooghe fills the role previously held by Paul Tayler, chief executive officer at Nexeo Plastics.

D’Hooghe joins Nexeo Plastics from DSM Engineering Materials, a global manufacturer of materials supporting business solutions in nutrition, personal care, health, medical, mobile, connectivity and sustainable living. There, d’Hooghe served as vice president of business lines where he led a global team in automotive, electrical and industrial and consumer electronics materials, driving topline growth and employee engagement. As well, d’Hooghe held several progressive positions at DSM, including commercial director of EMEA and European sales manager.

Prior to that, d’Hooghe served as managing director at Promens, a tier 1 automotive manufacturer, overseeing their injection molding business unit in Nitra, Slovakia. He also worked for the VDL Group as the senior program manager at Steelweld BV, responsible for large robot welding line projects for premium clients.

D’Hooghe’s business experience spans more than 20 years of international B2B sales and operational development, extensive history with plastics suppliers and customers, and additional expertise in strategic business development, sales, human resource development and capital projects management. D’Hooghe holds a Master of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the Technical University of Delft and an Executive MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management.
