Kittery Point, Maine-based Next Step Communications Inc., a full-service advertising and public relations agency specializing in serving business-to-business clients in the plastics and packaging industries, has announced that Mark Malloy is joining the agency.
Malloy, a plastics industry veteran, is joining the agency as a partner and purchasing an equity stake in the company. He will work closely with Greg Hannoosh, Next Step’s founder and president, to service Next Step’s existing clients and to acquire new customers to grow the business.
“2021 is a big year for Next Step,” Hannoosh said. “We are entering our 25th year in business, and I’m excited to be bringing Mark on board as a partner. He is a true professional who understands B2B marketing and has spent his entire career in the plastics industry. The combined plastics industry marketing experience we have is second to none and will be a big asset to our customers.”
Malloy was most recently business development director and part of the original investor group for Plastics Machinery Magazine. That publication, started in 2014, was sold to Endeavor Business Media in 2020. Prior to that, he worked in advertising sales for Crain Communications’ Plastics News. He started his career with Progressive Components of Wauconda, Illinois, where he served in various sales and marketing roles, including managing advertising programs and tradeshows. He earned his business management degree from Barat College and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.
Malloy will work for Next Step from his home office in the northern suburbs of Chicago (Grayslake, Illinois), where he lives with his wife, Susan, and son, Jonathan.
“Greg Hannoosh and Next Step have a reputation as the gold standard for marketing agencies in the plastics industry,” Malloy said. “I’m happy to be taking this ‘next step’ in my career and look forward to working with Greg to grow the business.”
