Harbour Results Adds Plastics Industry Veteran Gene Mussel

Harbour Results, Inc. (HRI), Southfield, Michigan, has added plastics industry veteran Gene Mussel to its team to support additional strategic and operational consulting business. With more than 15 years of experience, Mussel joined HRI as a director on the consulting team.

Mussel’s role will be to develop and help implement operational improvement and business strategy for HRI clients. “When I thought about what I enjoy most about manufacturing – in particular, plastics – it came down to continuous improvement,” he said. “The opportunity to drive improvements throughout the industry is exciting to me, especially considering HRI’s history of past successes, backed by data and proven through the assessment process.”

Prior to joining HRI, Mussel held various operations and strategic roles at leading plastics injection molder Plastic Components Inc. (PCI). Most recently, he was senior manager – Supply Chain, Strategy and Business Analytics. “I have a strong history in manufacturing operations, but I’ve also been involved in project management, finance and, in the later part of my career, supply chain and mergers and acquisitions,” said Mussel. “That foundation of experience will provide a basis for my involvement with our plastics clients, but also across all industries. The core desire of HRI is to make North American manufacturing better – to take historical knowledge and data and use it to improve processes and performance across all industries.”

“There is no other time in history where the manufacturing industry has experienced this level of chaos, which has required businesses to have more flexible operations. Gene has both business and operational experience, which is what our clients need to be successful,” said Laurie Harbour, president and CEO, Harbour Results, Inc.

Harbour Results, Inc. a leading business and operational consulting firm for the manufacturing industry. Focused on small- to medium-sized manufacturers, HRI offers operational and strategic advisory expertise, and proprietary assessment programs to help optimize a business’s performance. In addition, HRI helps companies better understand and improve their financial situation as well as assist in restructuring businesses.
