UV Disinfection Association Updates Website with New Resources

RadTech (The Association for UV & EB Technology), Chevy Chase, Maryland, has announced that as research and resources continue to develop for addressing the coronavirus, volunteer members with the International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) have offered a number of important recent postings to the IUVA COVID-19 website. The postings include:

  • COVID-19 FAQ addressing questions such as dose, N95 mask disinfection and far UV.
  • New podcast, produced by the IUVA Young Professionals group, featuring “COVID-19 Episode 1: The IUVA’s COVID-19 Response,” in English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Advice for the selection and operation of equipment for the UV disinfection of air and surfaces (also available in Spanish).
  • Recently released UV updates from the CDC, NIST, ECRI and IES.

In addition, the IUVA has posted UV guidance documents, including Fluence (UV Dose) Required to Achieve Incremental Log Inactivation of Bacteria, Protozoa, Viruses and Algae. Also posted is an updated listing of suppliers, in a buyers guide for UV technology, including “COVID-19 applicable equipment and services.” IUVA members are encouraged to submit and update their listing for this important resource.

IUVA members are actively engaged in a number of committees and initiatives to support the effective, responsible use of UV technology for public health and the environment.
