New US Plastics Exhibitions Open This Week

Three exhibitions focused on plastics recycling, extrusion and compounding will make their USA debut this week on Wednesday and Thursday, May 8-9, at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Plastics Recycling World Expo, Plastics Extrusion World Expo and Compounding World Expo have all sold out of booth space and will feature a total of 264 exhibitors from around the world. They also will include five conference theaters with more than 130 speakers delivering practical training seminars, participating in strategic business debates, and presenting the latest technology developments and market analysis.

It is free to attend the exhibitions and the five conference theaters. More than 2,000 people have already registered to visit and numbers are rising rapidly in the days leading up to the event.

“This is shaping up to be the largest dedicated plastics industry event in North America this year,” said Rita Andrews, head of exhibitions at AMI, the organizer of the exhibitions. “The industry support for these focused trade shows has been fantastic, and we’re looking forward to hosting two extremely productive days of networking and learning on Wednesday and Thursday.”

Many exhibitors and visitors also will attend a big industry networking party at Cleveland’s iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on the evening of Wednesday, May 8th. More than 900 tickets have already been sold for this after-show party.

Organized by AMI, the exhibitions will build on the success of the first Compounding World and Plastics Recycling World Expos, which took place in Essen, Germany last year. These expos attracted 184 exhibitors and 4,024 visitors.

The success of the debut event has recently been recognized in the Association of Event Organizers’ Excellence Awards 2019. The Compounding World Expo 2018 has been selected as a finalist in two categories – the Best Tradeshow Launch and the Best International Show in Europe.
