M. Holland Company, Northbrook, Illinois, a distributor of thermoplastic resins, has added Michael F. Gumbko as strategic account manager of the automotive group. Gumbko is well known throughout both the plastics and automotive industries for leveraging his business relationships to meet strategic goals.
As strategic account manager, Gumbko will focus on developing partnerships with large automotive suppliers operating multiple locations across North America. He will interface with various M. Holland account managers to establish and maintain business relationships with large tier-one manufacturers, OEMs and industry leading suppliers.
“I envision 2019 to be a transformational year for M. Holland in the automotive space,” said Gumbko. “My goal is to build our automotive presence through my industry expertise and the relationships I’ve developed over the last 30 years.”
Gumbko brings a wealth of automotive distribution experience to M. Holland. He most recently served as automotive business manager for Amco Polymers, a plastics distributor headquartered in Orlando, Florida. Prior to Amco Polymers, Gumbko established a significant presence in the automotive space during his 21 years with General Polymers, a division of Ashland Distribution Company. Beginning as an account manager, Gumbko eventually was promoted to corporate account manager of automotive. In this role, he established materials specifications, managed corporate pricing and supported commercial sales.
Gumbko earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing at Ferris State University, a leading plastics engineering university in Big Rapids, Michigan. Gumbko currently serves as vice president of the Ferris State Alumni Association’s board of directors.
