Viking Plastics’ Chinese Partner to Expand Plant

Viking PlasticsÂ’ Chinese Partner to Expand Plant

Plastics Business

The Poly-Cast Co. Ltd. plastic injection molding plant in Suzhou, China, is expanding to a new facility in Q2 2017 where it will double its current square footage to support consistent annual growth. The business is owned by Corry, Pennsylvania-based Viking Plastics in partnership with Poly-Cast, Portland, Oregon, and Falcon Plastics, headquartered in Brookings, South Dakota.

Poly-Cast established a plant in Suzhou, China, in 2006, supplying parts for the automotive industry. The expansion will enable the plant to achieve its goals for expanded capabilities of up to 30 injection molding machines with presses ranging from 55 to 500 tons of clamping force. It also will provide new capabilities, including cleanroom injection molding for parts for medical devices, insert molding by vertical injection, assembly and other value-added services. In addition, the new facility will provide expanded inventory space.
