Conair System Protects Resin, Prevents Line Wear

Conair System Protects Resin, Prevents Line Wear

Plastics Business

The new, patent-pending R-PRO (ResinProtect) conveying system from Conair, Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, virtually eliminates pellet fracturing, “angel hair” and equipment wear caused by high-speed vacuum conveying.

Comprised mainly of standard vacuum-conveying components, this system results in slower flow and less resin damage without limiting throughput. In the Conair R-PRO system, pellets move at slow speeds in compact slugs of material. Material speeds can range from as slow as 230 ft/minute up to 1,200 ft/minute. Since R-PRO uses standard vacuum pumps, conveying tubes and material receivers, the system can be easily retrofit to existing systems.
