Report: Reshoring Poised to Surge 38% to Record High

Reshoring Initiative, Sarasota, Florida, has released its 1H2021 data report. The report shows that if 2H2021 progresses at the same rate as 1H2021, reshoring and foreign direct investment (FDI) job announcements for 2021 are projected to be over 220,000 – 38% above 2020 and the highest yearly rate recorded to date.

Top takeaways from the report show that the jobs that are coming back in transportation equipment are mostly in electric vehicle battery production, both PPR and pharmaceuticals are down from 2020, the number of companies reporting new reshoring and FDI is also set for a new annual record of 1,800+ companies and more.
