Custom plastic injection molder PTA Plastics, Longmont, Colorado, has announced it has received MedAccred Plastics Injection Molding accreditation. After participating in a pilot with MedAccred in Plastics Mechanical Assembly, PTA Plastics has become one of the first companies in the US to hold this certification.
PTA Plastics received MedAccred Plastics Injection Molding accreditation on Aug. 8, 2019, for demonstrating its ongoing commitment to quality by satisfying customer requirements and industry specifications. The accreditation was awarded by The Performance Review Institute (PRI) and allows the company to be listed on the MedAccred Qualified Manufacturers List (QML) proving increased supply chain visibility as PTA Plastics continues to offer manufacturing solutions in the medical field.
“A tremendously beneficial component to PTA Plastics during the gap analysis process of the accreditation was the execution of implementing new quality requirements that generate a new discipline for our employees and command new best practices for our customer,” said Rich Dorans, president at PTA Plastics.
MedAccred was created to counter issues seen by those in the medical device industry. The process to become MedAccred certified is vigorous, due to the focused scope, creating the need for a comprehensive review to ensure that industry best practices are met, removing the need for multiple OEMs to make on-site audits. The certification at PTA Plastics is valid through October 2020.
