Custom plastics thermoformer Reliable Formed Plastics, LLC, Birmingham, Alabama, was acquired by investment group Perrimark Ventures, also of Birmingham, on May 3, 2019. Reliable Formed Plastics manufactures parts for a wide range of industries and applications including aerospace, food/beverage, retail, marine, technology, healthcare and general industrial. The company processes a variety of plastics including ABS, styrene, acrylic, polycarbonate, HDPE and Ultem with plans to target nylon, PEEK, FR polycarbonate, PPS and other high-grade material applications.
Company founder Rick Turman will remain as President and a member. The investment group brings the addition of Michael Orme as Finance Director and Matthew LePere as Operations Director. Turman’s experience combined with the new team’s energy has primed the company for immediate growth. Reliable Formed Plastics plans to further diversify service and material offerings while enhancing its position in industry by obtaining manufacturing certifications, such as ISO9001 and AS9100. The company also plans to target the aerospace industry given its proximity to aerospace and aviation manufacturers in Alabama and the greater Southeastern region.
