Bemis to Expand Plant in Mexico

Bemis Manufacturing Company, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, plans to expand the footprint of its Monterrey, Mexico, plant and add presses to support growth in the region.

The 50,000 sq. ft. addition will house three new presses in the 1,000- to 1,500-ton range, including at least one multi-barrel machine. The building infrastructure will be able to support future presses as large as 4,400 tons. The Monterrey operation currently employs about 160 people on three shifts six days a week, and the company expects to add to the workforce once the expansion is complete in late 2016.
