Press release submitted on behalf of POLYFIL USA.

POLYFIL USA is underway on a $12 million redevelopment of its headquarters in Rockaway Twp., NJ, marking a major investment in advanced manufacturing, innovation and long-term growth. The project includes a 28,000 SF addition to the existing 59,000 SF facility, as well as a significant investment in state-of-the-art compounding equipment. The new wing of the facility is slated to be operational in 2027.
The groundbreaking represents the culmination of years of vision and perseverance, according to Juan Castaneda, Managing Director of Polyfil.
“When we first envisioned increasing our manufacturing space, we knew the road ahead would be challenging – government approvals, environmental regulations and the complexity of the permitting process tested our resolve,” Castaneda said.
“However, those challenges only strengthened our commitment to growing Polyfil’s footprint in New Jersey, coupled with investing in the future growth of American manufacturing,” he added.
The expansion follows more than three years of collaboration with state, county, and local agencies, securing the approvals needed to preserve and grow their base of operations here in Rockaway Township.
Castaneda emphasized that the achievement reflects the dedication of many (team) players.
“Projects of this magnitude are never accomplished by one organization alone, and we are grateful to everyone whose expertise and commitment helped transform this vision into reality,” Castaneda pointed out.
A key contributor was Kimmerle Group (KG), led by George J. Kimmerle, serving as development advisor and architect/planner of record. Working with Dewberry Engineering and a multidisciplinary legal and engineering team – including Neil Yoskin (Cullen and Dykman), Glenn Kienz (Weiner Law Group), David Glass (CLB Partners), Mario Ianelli (Dewberry), and Angelo Baute (Kimmerle Group) – the project successfully secured approvals from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Rockaway Township and Morris County.
“A fast-growing and successful industrial facility was being hampered by an inability to expand production capacity, that problem was solved by the approvals garnered by the team that was assembled for this assignment,” said KG founding partner, George Kimmerle.
Construction is being led by Corporate Contracting, Inc., under the watchful eye of CEO Michael Walsh.
Castaneda also recognized the unwavering support of The Kafrit Group, Polyfil’s parent organization.
“This achievement would not have been possible without The Kafrit Group’s confidence and continued commitment to investing in North American manufacturing,” Castaneda stated emphatically.
Upon completion, the newly updated headquarters will feature increased production capacity, advanced laboratories (more than twice the current size), employee training facilities, modern logistics capabilities and next-generation manufacturing technologies.
“This expansion is an investment in our employees, our customers, our industry partners, and the future of plastics manufacturing in New Jersey,” Castaneda went on to say.
“What we are building today will position POLYFIL USA for decades of continued success, innovation and sustainable growth,” he said in conclusion.
