PCS Company has announced it now offers Temptek’s Water Temperature Control Units (TCUs), designed to provide precise and reliable temperature regulation for injection molders.
Temptek’s Water Temperature Control Units are engineered to establish the desired operating temperature and maintain stable conditions throughout production. They automatically maintain the set temperature by heating water circulating through them or blending cooling water into the flow, as needed.
“With the addition of these TCUs to our portfolio, we’re continuing to expand our ability to meet the needs of injection molders across the full range of plastics manufacturing applications,” said PCS President Angela Elsey. “Precise temperature control is critical to maintaining part quality, optimizing cycle times and minimizing scrap. These TCUs deliver reliable, accurate temperature regulation—even in demanding applications—giving processors greater confidence that their processes are running at peak performance.”
To meet molders’ needs, TCUs come in a variety of configurations. Standard versions are available with heaters rated at 10 kW, 16 kW, and 24 kW, with other power configurations available as custom options. Standard processing pumps range up to 5 HP, with other configurations available by custom quote. TCUs operate at temperatures ranging from 30°F to 250°F as standard, while high-temperature configurations are available as an option for applications requiring temperatures up to 300°F. Available power configurations will include 230/3/60 and 460/3/60.
The units are housed in stainless steel cabinets. Two sizes are available, with dimensions of 29½” by 12½” by 19″ and 43″ by 16″ by 29″.
For precise metering of cooling water, the modulating cooling valve has 2,000 incremental rotation steps from open to closed. It has a full valve port that provides greater capacity than a typical open/close solenoid valve.
Other features include automatic start-up venting, pump seal cooling shutdown, and an audible alarm for out-of-spec conditions.
The PCS Company backs the TCU line with a two-year warranty covering the controller, cooling valve, heater, mechanical components and pump seal.
