Absolute Announces the Passing of Industry Veteran Glenn H. Frohring

Founder of Newbury Industries was 90 years old

Press release submitted on behalf of Absolute.

Glenn H. Frohring and his wife, Joretta Frohring

Absolute Haitian announces with deep sadness the passing of Glenn H. Frohring, founder of Newbury Industries and a pioneering force in the injection molding machinery sector. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, at the age of 90.

Frohring is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joretta; his son Glenn W. and daughter-in-law Susan; son Christopher; stepsons Brad Kelley and Evan Kelley; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his daughter, Heidi Jean Frohring.

A visionary in plastics machinery manufacturing, Frohring founded Newbury Industries in 1957. Under his leadership, the company became widely recognized for its compact vertical presses, MiniJector machines, and shuttle-type designs. Newbury Industries was acquired by Heico Industries in 1993 and later became part of Van Dorn Demag and subsequently Sumitomo Demag.

Frohring studied Physics Engineering at the Case Institute of Technology (now Case Western Reserve University). Beyond his professional accomplishments, he contributed significantly to his community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Geauga Park District and leading the William O. & Gertrude Lewis Frohring Foundation Inc. as President for many years.

His legacy in the plastics industry continues through his son, Glenn W. Frohring, co-owner of Absolute Haitian and Absolute Robot, and an officer on the Board of Directors of the Plastics Industry Association.
