Currier Plastics Recognized for Supporting Education

Plastics Business

Currier Plastics, Auburn, New York, a strong supporter education in the Finger Lakes manufacturing community, recently was recognized as the driving force behind the development of the plastics degree program at Cayuga Community College (CCC).

In June, Partners for Education and Business presented the Sector Strategy Award to Currier Plastics during its annual luncheon at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. The award was presented as a follow-up to the Manufacturing Career Day held in October 2015, which was co-hosted by Currier Plastics and Lockheed Martin. Nearly 70 percent of the 359 students that were surveyed said they would consider a career in manufacturing.

Other recent recognition includes the Cooperative Education Program Appreciation Award presented to Currier Plastics by the Auburn Enlarged City School District. Through the program, Currier Plastics employed high school senior Ryann Gable, who performed administrative and accounting tasks at Currier Plastics.
