SUMMARY:DELMIAWorks Webinar: Mastering Manufacturing Process Development
DESCRIPTION:From Concept to Production: Mastering Manufacturing Process Development\n\n\n\n\n\nAug 28\, 2024 11:00 AM (ET)\n\n\n\nIn the competitive world of manufacturing\, the design and layout of your processes are as critical as the equipment you use. Whether integrating a new production line or transitioning to a new facility\, optimizing material flow from raw materials to finished products is key to a successful investment. Historically\, large multinational firms have relied on meticulous planning and advanced 3D renders to refine their processes. In contrast\, midmarket manufacturers lacking these resources often rely on informal knowledge and estimates\, leading to suboptimal outcomes. However\, with the constant evolution of process simulation tools and user friendly process monitoring systems\, midmarket manufacturers now have the capability to develop and evaluate production processes in a virtual environment.\n\nJoin DELMIAWorks Industry Process Consultants Johann Ortiz-Franco and Josh Covault on August 28th at 11:00 am EST as they review tools and techniques for creating digital process replicas and simulating the impact of changes before they are made in the real world.\n\nIn this webinar\, we will delve into:\n• Utilizing Digital Twin Technology: Transform plant layouts with optimized space and resource utilization.\n• Optimizing Process Flows: Enhance production efficiency through testing and refining.\n• Real-Time Data Acquisition: Validate assumptions and decisions made during the design process.\n\nDon’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the technology that can help you expand your production facility safely and efficiently -without the guesswork and anxiety.

SUMMARY:RJG Master Molder® I
DESCRIPTION:December 2\, 2024 8:00 AM–December 13\, 2024 3:00 PM  | Traverse City\, Michigan \nMaster Molder I \n\nThis 10-day certificate course focuses on the best practices of DECOUPLED MOLDING® II process development\, documentation\, and duplication for any mold in any capable machine. To help students apply scientific molding principles\, the schedule offers a blend of hands-on time with the molds and machines and participative classroom time. The goal is not necessarily to be able to “run machines” but to achieve an understanding of the “whys” behind the manipulation of key processing variables from the plastic’s point of view. During the last 2 days\, participants are assessed on process development\, process matching\, and general molding theory and methodology through timed final exams to confirm the effective transfer of critical knowledge and skills. SUMMARY:Beaumont Moldflow Webinar Series: Thermal Pins
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, February 27th\, Noon (EST) – Mike Hall\nThermal Pins – How to Model and Why it Matters \nBeaumont is holding this FREE webinar series showcasing tips\, tricks\, and some of the latest features Moldflow has to offer. Come listen in\, ask questions and share with your co-workers!  There are three remaining webinars each covering different Moldflow topics all starting at noon EST. \nThermal Pins – How to Model and Why it Matters\nThermal Pins are used in place of or in addition to baffles and bubblers to improve heat extraction from hot spot regions in injection molded parts. The evolution of injection molding flow simulation allows us to evaluate cooling lines within a mold before cutting steel\, but can thermal pins be accurately modeled within the simulation? Proper modeling techniques are essential to differentiate between using a bubbler\, baffle\, or thermal pin in Moldflow to minimize hot spots across the cavity and avoid costly tool revisions.

SUMMARY:Beaumont Moldflow Webinar Series: Hot Gate Insulation
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, March 20th – Jerry Rooney\nHot Gate Insulation – Is the Default Assumption Safe? \nBeaumont is holding this FREE webinar series showcasing tips\, tricks\, and some of the latest features Moldflow has to offer. Come listen in\, ask questions and share with your co-workers!  There are three remaining webinars each covering different Moldflow topics all starting at noon EST. \nHot Gate Insulation – Is the Default Assumption Safe?\nBy default\, Moldflow assumes good insulation between Hot Gate elements and Part elements. Consequently\, the mold temperature near the gate is quite uniform\, and shows little evidence of the heat load from the nearby hot gate. The goal was to determine if manipulating the insulation properties of the hot gate produces notably different results in terms of packing and warpage. The results show increases in local shrinkage near the gates and slight changes to warpage magnitudes. Warpage trends remained the same in all scenarios. Additional simulations should be performed to determine the trends on a variety of materials and part designs. Lastly\, future work should involve taking actual temperature measurements from a production tool and comparing to simulation outputs.
