SUMMARY:"Electrifying the Adoption of Additive Manufacturing for EVs"
DESCRIPTION:The widespread adoption of electric vehicles is no longer a futuristic\, far-off concept. With increasing mandates to electrify vehicle fleets\, companies that don’t act quickly will miss out on market share. While the rise of additive manufacturing in the automotive industry has helped OEMs stay nimble in the face of changing times\, the Carbon platform is uniquely positioned to enable automotive companies to go from idea to production with its innovative hardware\, advanced software\, best-in-class engineering resins\, and leading production partners like Fast Radius. In this webinar\, Doug Gergel\, Dan Healy and Max Newberger discuss how Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis technology can support product engineers and designers at any point in the vehicle development process from prototyping to low volume and even serial production of end-use parts with qualified partners like Fast Radius\, why there’s no time like the present for electric vehicle makers to embrace this technology.

SUMMARY:Paulson Training Programs\, Inc. Profitable Molding for Managers
DESCRIPTION:A 3-day injection molding seminar that teaches the business of profitable molding for managers. The primary focus is on identifying\, monitoring and controlling the cost drivers of an injection molding plant. Cost drivers are those items which dictate how much profit is made. Managers of molding plants are swamped daily with a myriad of issues\, many of the “immediate” variety. Those daily fires can obscure the important metrics by which success will be measured and achieved. Certification: Successful completion of this course earns attendees a Certificate of Completion.

SUMMARY:Sepro to Show Off Simple Automation Packages on Four Molding Machines at Plastec West 2023
DESCRIPTION:At Plastec West 2023\, Sepro America will demonstrate that automation systems do not have to be complex to deliver significant gains in efficiency and productivity in plastic injection molding operations. Four Sepro robots — along with custom end-of-arm tooling (EOAT)\, conveyors and protective guarding — will be operating in three different booths at the show\, which is scheduled for Feb. 7 – 9 at the Convention Center in Anaheim\, CA. \n“Increasingly\, some kind of automation will be necessary if injection molders want to overcome the challenges presented by the current labor shortage and a highly competitive marketplace\,” predicts Jim Healy\, VP Sales & Marketing at Sepro America. “Automated molding cells minimize labor requirements\, while user-friendly controls simplify training and address problems related to the high turnover of operators.” \nIn its own booth (#4111)\, Sepro will be collaborating with Milacron to automate a 110-ton Roboshot injection-molding machine (IMM). A Sepro 5X-15 five-axis Cartesian robot\, featuring a Visual 3 control system\, will use customized EOAT to remove a medical part from the mold and place it on a conveyer\, which it transports out of the cell through protective guarding. \nMaruka USA\, booth #4024\, will be operating two injection-molding machines and Sepro will automate both. An FCS FA 160 machine will be served by an S5-15 MED robot with Visual 2 controls. The MED series of robots are specifically designed for the medical and pharmaceutical markets and have features that ensure clean operation as well as high precision and continuous productivity. The second IMM will be a TOYO Si 110 machine equipped with a three-axis-servo Success 5\, which also has Visual 2 controls. Both robots have their own Sepro EOAT\, separate part-handling conveyors\, and integrated protective guarding. \nFinally\, in booth #3877\, Shibaura Machine Co. will operate an 85-ton molding machine equipped with a Sepro S5 servo picker with Touch controls. Sepro end-of-arm tooling extracts parts from a 4-cavity cable-tie mold and removes the runner before placing parts on a conveyor for transport out of the guarded molding area. \n“While Sepro has designed and installed many highly complex turnkey molding systems for customers that need them\,” Healy concludes\, “we firmly believe that relatively simple automation solutions like these will be increasingly important to all molders in the next few years and beyond.”

SUMMARY:AMUG 2023 Conference - Registration Open
DESCRIPTION:Photo caption: Hundreds of first-time attendees gathered for the 2022 welcoming session to kick-start the networking aspect of the AMUG Conference. \n  \nThe Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG)\, Milwaukee\, Wisconsin\, announced that online registration is open for its 2023 AMUG Conference\, which will be held in Chicago\, Illinois\, March 19-23\, 2023. The AMUG Conference is a users’ event open to owners and operators of industrial additive manufacturing technologies used for professional purposes. \nMark Abshire\, AMUG president said\, “The AMUG conference is all about the users of additive manufacturing equipment. What makes it unique is the users plan\, organize and manage all aspects of the conference\, making it truly ‘For Users\, By Users’.” \nAdditive manufacturing users share expertise\, best practices\, real-world results\, challenges and application developments through dialogue from the stage and conversations during breaks\, meals and networking activities. With a program that encourages participation from early in the morning to late at night\, attendees can interact with their peers for more than 50 hours over the five-day event. \nThe AMUG Conference will include keynotes\, panel discussions\, technical sessions and hands-on workshops designed to help users get more from\, and do more with\, their additive manufacturing solutions. The conference agenda is expected to offer nearly 150 presentations and workshops. \nOne highlight of the conference program will be the 8th annual Innovators Showcase. The showcase is an on-stage interview with the feel of a fireside chat where attendees get to know an innovator in the industry and discover insights from that individual’s experiences. The conference program also includes the AMUGexpo\, with over 140 participating companies\, on Sunday\, March 19 and Monday\, March 20. \nThrough AMUG’s Innovators Award\, Technical Competition and DINO Awards\, excellence in applying additive manufacturing and contributions to the industry will be recognized. The five-day event also includes an off-site dinner gathering\, networking receptions and catered meals. \nThe advanced\, all-inclusive conference registration fee is $1\,295.00 when signing up through January 6\, 2023. For details and registration access\, visit www.amug.com. \nCompanies interested in participating as exhibitors or sponsors may also use online registration. Representatives of the financial community and media should contact AMUG directly at www.amug.com/contact/.
