SUMMARY:Moldex3D Webinar: Effective Simulation Strategies to Minimize Warpage
DESCRIPTION:2:00 PM EDT | Wednesday\, March 5\, 2025\nIn the world of manufacturing\, part warpage is a common challenge that can lead to costly defects and production delays. As industries strive for efficiency and quality\, leveraging simulation tools becomes crucial in understanding and mitigating warpage issues before they arise. In this session\, we will explore various simulation techniques that can predict and analyze warpage during the production process. We’ll discuss real-world case studies\, showcasing how these strategies have successfully reduced warpage and improved overall product performance.\nWhat will attendees learn? \n\nWhat is the definition of Warpage and how can it be visualized in simulation?\nKey result items to look for when trying to diagnose warpage issues.\nHow to separate material shrinkage from differential shrinkage?\n\nSpeaker Introduction\nKen Cheng is the Customer Manager at Moldex3D\, with nearly 17 years of experience in the manufacturing industry and software solutions. A graduate with a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington\, KC is known for his expertise in handling complex molding simulations and client support. His dedication\, knowledge\, and client-centric approach have set a new standard in the industry\, making him a valued mentor and professional in his field. \nFor more information and to register\, visit www.moldex3d.com/events.

SUMMARY:Beaumont Moldflow Webinar Series: Hot Gate Insulation
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, March 20th – Jerry Rooney\nHot Gate Insulation – Is the Default Assumption Safe? \nBeaumont is holding this FREE webinar series showcasing tips\, tricks\, and some of the latest features Moldflow has to offer. Come listen in\, ask questions and share with your co-workers!  There are three remaining webinars each covering different Moldflow topics all starting at noon EST. \nHot Gate Insulation – Is the Default Assumption Safe?\nBy default\, Moldflow assumes good insulation between Hot Gate elements and Part elements. Consequently\, the mold temperature near the gate is quite uniform\, and shows little evidence of the heat load from the nearby hot gate. The goal was to determine if manipulating the insulation properties of the hot gate produces notably different results in terms of packing and warpage. The results show increases in local shrinkage near the gates and slight changes to warpage magnitudes. Warpage trends remained the same in all scenarios. Additional simulations should be performed to determine the trends on a variety of materials and part designs. Lastly\, future work should involve taking actual temperature measurements from a production tool and comparing to simulation outputs.
