SUMMARY:RJG Academy Master Molder® I
DESCRIPTION:This is the industry’s premier standard demand for training! The Master Molder® I qualification is designed for the Process Technician\, Engineer\, or Manager who needs to understand and demonstrate injection molding skills at the machine. Participants will be able to establish the development of a DECOUPLED MOLDING® II process. Anyone who is responsible for implementing a processing strategy in their plant\, or who is held accountable for quality issues\, are prime candidates for this training. \nThere is a reason that companies in the injection molding industry actively seek out Master Molder qualified molders to join their team. Participants learn to apply methods\, strategies\, and techniques of injection molding from the plastic’s point of view\, all taught in a real-world production floor environment. This hands-on\, in-depth training enables participants to leave with solid skills that can be applied immediately in their facility.

SUMMARY:Beaumont & the American Injection Molding Institute Development Course: Mold Design
DESCRIPTION:Online or in-person (Erie\, PA) \nThe course begins by identifying the five key systems of a mold: melt delivery\, cooling\, structural\, venting\, and ejection. Discussions follow featuring the foundations of each system and how they all affect the formation of the plastic part and the final part quality. Participants will take part in three different labs: a mold tear down and assembly\, mold print reading\, and a cooling cart demonstration. Attendees will gain the ability to evaluate mold design based on the five systems and recognize design features that could be improved.

SUMMARY:RJG Master Molder® I
DESCRIPTION:December 2\, 2024 8:00 AM–December 13\, 2024 3:00 PM  | Traverse City\, Michigan \nMaster Molder I \n\nThis 10-day certificate course focuses on the best practices of DECOUPLED MOLDING® II process development\, documentation\, and duplication for any mold in any capable machine. To help students apply scientific molding principles\, the schedule offers a blend of hands-on time with the molds and machines and participative classroom time. The goal is not necessarily to be able to “run machines” but to achieve an understanding of the “whys” behind the manipulation of key processing variables from the plastic’s point of view. During the last 2 days\, participants are assessed on process development\, process matching\, and general molding theory and methodology through timed final exams to confirm the effective transfer of critical knowledge and skills. SUMMARY:RJG’s Fundamentals of Systematic Injection Molding
DESCRIPTION:March 18\, 2025 8:00 AM–March 21\, 2025 4:00 PM\nCourse length: 4 days \n\n\nDesigned for both technical and non-technical personnel who are associated with production of thermoplastic injection molded components\, this course introduces the foundational elements of systematic molding: part design\, mold design\, material\, machine\, and processing with Decoupled Molding methodologies. Participants are guided through a series of cause and effect studies to help them understand how manipulating primary machine input settings affects the four plastic variables and ultimately affects part quality and process repeatability. Empowered with this understanding\, participants will begin troubleshooting common part defects. \nCourse Objectives \n\nConsider part design best practices as they relate to greater processing capability and minimizing non-conformities\nReview the functions of the primary components of different types of molding machines and molds\nExamine how to achieve appropriate melt consistency and temperature\nStudy the relationship between pressure and speed and how plastic flow rates affect material flow-ability\nAnalyze the effects of hold pressure on part weight and cushion\nAssociate hold time to part weight/dimensional stability\nTheoretically calculate and practically determine appropriate clamp force\nDetermine appropriate cooling time to achieve part stability at ejection\nObserve the effects of additives (color changes) on the properties of the molded part\nRelate the 4 plastic variables to part defects to outline potential corrective actions\n\nDelivery Format Options\nThis course is available publicly\, in-plant\, or online. \n\n\nFor more information and to register:\nhttps://rjginc.com/training/registration/fundamentals-of-systematic-injection-molding/

SUMMARY:RJG's Part & Mold Design for Injection Molding: Opelika\, Alabama
DESCRIPTION:Course Description\nTo successfully design and produce plastic injection molds and molded components that meet cycle time\, cost\, part quality\, and lead time requirements\, networks of molding professionals need to have a common language and an understanding of core elements of plastic behavior. This course will help you understand the inter-relationships of part design\, mold design\, and quality processing\, allowing you to better: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMaximize the likelihood of successful production\nMitigate rework\nReduce development costs\nDecrease the risk of less-than-optimum tooling conditions\nMinimize nonconformities\nSpeed up time to market\n\nClass topics address good manufacturing processes (GMP) for: plastic part design\, fundamental material characteristics\, robust mold designs\, necessary processing characteristics\, molding non-conformities\, and tolerances. The course also discusses how part design and material selection affect the cost of tooling and piece price. Since hands-on-learning is a core component of our training\, we utilize industry examples as reference\, then dive into evaluating and improving designs. Attendees will work in groups to examine parts to identify where non-conformities will occur and methods to improve those risks.
