The term “sustainability” has grown in relevance in today’s business world, and companies that are embracing the concept are discovering positive ramifications in all areas of their business. As part of any long-term strategy, company executives are becoming increasingly aware of the need to attract talented individuals to their workforce and provide an environment that enables those employees to thrive.
In a quest to maintain its position as a world leader in structural foam injection molding, the DeKALB executive management team has created a long-term vision of sustainability. Becoming an employer of choice is the core of this strategy and involves a number of different facets which focus on maximizing employee empowerment and engagement. As a result of this strategy, DeKALB has become recognized for cutting-edge customer service, an ability to anticipate market needs and power to solve problems with extremely innovative approaches.
Although much can be said for the progress DeKALB has made in its own culture, it recently became obvious that the improvement made in rebuilding the culture was the primary reason the organization was able to quickly overcome a major business interruption, enacting its disaster recovery plan flawlessly after a plant fire. In fact, Dekalb employees responded so quickly to what could have been a major disaster that the event turned into more of a nuisance rather than a business catastrophe.
MAPP members and special quests will tour DeKALB Molded Products, Butler, IN, on June 21. Click here to attend the plant tour.
