Wittmann Battenfeld USA hosted nearly 500 people throughout a week of events that included an open house in early October.

Wittmann Battenfeld USA hosted its 2016 Open House on Oct. 5-6 at its expanded Torrington, Connecticut, headquarters. It hosted nearly 500 people throughout the week.

Customers saw 22 total demonstrations; eight molding machine workcells, including a brand new demonstration cleanroom with three functioning molding cells; and a new Material Handling building. Over two days, 36 technical presentations were available. Nine were given by industry partners and the other 27 were led by Wittmann Battenfeld’s own experts. The presentations offered covered every aspect of the molding process, from Wittman 4.0 and effective use of robots and automation, to hot-runner optimization and blenders, dryers and flow control, as well as eco- and micro-molding, production monitoring and managing a startup, metallurgy, proper material selection, and more.

Wittmann Battenfeld also included several major industry events, including the SPI Northeast Regional Dinner. Following the open house, Wittmann Battenfeld opened its doors to local schools for Manufacturing Day (Oct. 7), which included the SPE’s Plastivan, where students learned about the chemistry, history, processing manufacturing, sustainability and application of plastics through fun hands-on science experiments.
